As a Cowboys fan I know you had to be cringing in your seat at the performance that took place on your TV's last night. In A Monday night football game, that had importance written all over it, the Dallas Cowboys gave you another reason to have doubtful thoughts in the back of your head. If there weren't questions you wanted answers to, after 2 sluggish games against Seattle and Tampa Bay prior to Monday night's debacle against erratically impressive Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler and the Monsters of the Midway, there are definitely questions to be asked now. Getting beat 34-18 at home on Monday Night Football is not acceptable for a team that must play Championship worthy Football to win in a division with the defending champion, New York Giants, a potential Super Bowl contender Philadelphia squad and a Redskins team, that will win some games with RGIII running the show. This type of performance can't be tolerated and things must be fixed immediately if we want to make the playoffs with how the rest of our schedule plays out, it gets no easier from here
The Offensive Line: Actually, the most glaring weakness on the Cowboys this season the Cowboys Offensive line looked pretty decent against Julius Peppers and an attacking Bears pass rush. Yes, the Grapevine, Texas native Henry Melton was able to get to Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo for two sacks last night, with one of those sacks causing a strip that ended up in Lance Briggs arms for a Bears score, but those were the only two sacks of the night. No glaring false start penalties, botched snaps, or drive killing holding penalties were a big plus looking into the future for the Cowboys Offensive line.
The Defensive Line: The injuries on the Defensive line were staring you dead in the face with the Cowboys Defensive line only being able to get to an often-sacked Jay Cutler twice last night. The losses of All-Pro Defensive Lineman Jay Ratliff, Anthony Spencer and Kenyon Coleman to injuries really affected us last night. With Jay Cutler getting too much time to throw he was able to pick apart a Cowboys secondary, who suffered from "lack of pass rush you, can't ask me to stay on this receiving core for too long please help us" Syndrome. Jay Cutler was able to wheel in deal with little pressure getting in his face going (18-24, 275 yds, 2 Tds) and no interceptions last night while Brandon Marshall was able to impose his will with 7 catches for 138 and a score.
Tony Romo and the Wide Receivers: To be completely honest, despite the numbers (5 interceptions) Tony Romo really didn't play that bad last night. Yes, there were two badly overthrown potential Touchdown passes to Miles Austin and Dez Bryant early in the game. Both of those throws could have led to points, and at the end of the day 5 interceptions is unacceptable, but lets look into his performance in-depth. Tony Romo went 31 for 43 for 307 yards and a Touchdown last night with virtually no run game provided by Demarco Murray, some key dropped passes by Dez Bryant on third downs; a mis-communication with Wide Receiver Dez Bryant on a hot route that Bears Cornerback Charles Tillman turned into a Bears touchdown, a drop in the redzone turned interception by Kevin Ogletree that cost us points, and a freak "strip" ruled as an interception by Henry Melton, that had Bears Linebacker Lance Briggs looking like a 100 m athlete for another Bears score. Take out these plays in which, Romo is not all at fault for and Tony could have possibly been a hero last night. With the re-emergence of tight end Jason Witten (13 catches for 112 yds and a touchdown) and less mistakes with the same production from Dez Bryant (8 catches for 105 yds), there were a few things offensively that were encouraging. However, the run game has to be revamped and Demarco Murray has to get on track 11 rushes for 24 yards just doesn't cut it.

Week 4 NFL Picks
Week 4 NFL Picks
Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
Why: You've seen the way Atlanta is playing, a team led by a "man we're losing I'm going to pout" Cam Newton team is not going to beat the Falcons right now.
New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills
Winner: Patriots
Why: The Pats are on a two game losing streak, even though this game will be closer than some may think expect the Pats to squeak out a win and avenge the losses to Arizona and Baltimore in the two past weeks
Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions
Winner: Detroit Lions
Why: Yes, the Vikings beat the 49ers last week, and yes Christian Ponder looks significantly better this year, but no, the Lions need this game and will win this game.
San Diego Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Winner: Chiefs
Why: The Chiefs defense is getting healthier, that's a great sign for a team with so much defensive talent in place, not only that Jamaal Charles ran like a man possessed last week against the New Orleans Saints. Expect Charles to have another big week in the Chiefs second straight win of the season.
Seattle Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams
Winner: Seahawks
Why: Should the Seahawks have a L in the losers column after last weeks "We don't know what, we're doing man we're just here," performance put on by Replacement Referees? Heck Ya, but are they a "real" team with a really stout defense, with a secondary that scares everybody else in the league? The answer to that is yes also, look for them to confuse Sam Bradford into a terrible performance followed by a Seattle win.
San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Jets
Winner: 49ers
Why: To be honest, I think the Jets are a joke this year, nothing more than a gimmick. Even though, the 49ers took a surprising L to the Vikings last week expect them to do nothing less than beat the tar out of the Jets this week.
Tennessee Titans vs. Houston Texans
Winner: Texans
Why: As much as it pains me to say this right now the Texans are the best team in the NFL. That trend isn't going to stop this weekend when they put another win in the winners column over the "Thank You BasedGod" miracle winners of last week.
Oakland Raiders vs. Denver Broncos
Winner: Broncos
Why: The Raiders look like trash on defense, yes they squeaked out a win last week against the Steelers. Forget that the Broncos are going to do whatever they please against the Raiders this weekend.
Miami Dolphins vs. Arizona Cardinals
Winner: Cardinals
Why: Reggie Bush is the Dolphins offense, he's inactive today. Therefore, the Arizona Cardinals will start the season 4-0 Chuuuuch.
Cincinatti Bengals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Winner: Bengals
Why: Jacksonville also squeaked out a "Thank You BasedGod" win this week. But, with the way Andy Dalton and AJ Green are working the honeymoon will end this Sunday, who said they gonna beat them Bengals?
New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers
Winner: Packers
Why: The Packers took a misfortunate loss last week thanks to the crew of Foot Locker sneaker salesman reffing NFL games. Welp they won't this week when New Orleans starts the season off 0-4, "The bounty brothers of Fall," have one of the worst defenses in the league, do your really think they can slow down Aaron Rodgers in company? Me neither
Washington Redskins vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Winner: Redskins
Why: A matchup of two of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. Expect RGIII from Goodburger to out duel Greg Schiano and the "We play hard when teams take knees," Buccaneers.
New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Winner: Giants
Why: This will be a very interesting matchup, but to be honest the way Michael Vick has been playing there is no way I'm picking them to beat the Giants.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears.
Winner: Cowboys
Why: Two words, Jay Cutler. O, thanks for my fantasy points each week Jay? I joke, I joke, you're a jerk.
Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons
Winner: Atlanta Falcons

NFL Week 3 Picks
Week 3 NFL Picks
Carolina Panthers vs. New York Giants
Winner: Carolina Panthers
Why: No Hakeem Nicks, No Ahmad Bradshaw, No G-Men win. Expect Cam Newton and Steve Smith to have a field day against a depleted Giant Secondary that's been hit hard by the injury bug.
St. Louis Rams vs. Chicago Bears
Winner: Chicago Bears
Why: Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler has to bounce back from the horrendous performance he had against the Packers. Don't expect 4 picks this week, hero Jay will be roping Touchdown passes against a young Rams secondary.
Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns
Winner: Buffalo Bills
Why: I just can't put faith in Browns Quarterback Brandon Weeden, even with Trent Richardson around him he just doesn't have the tools or the tools around him to lead the Browns to victory. Expect this game to be a route in which CJ Spiller has another Fantasy player of the week type performance.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
Why: The Cowboys looked soft last week, both sides of the ball looked like the marsh-mellow unit. Expect the Boys to bounce back in a dominant performance against the Buccaneers and first year Head Coach Greg Schiano.
Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans
Winner: Detroit Lions
Why: Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson have yet to connect on a Touchdown pass this season, expect that to change as the Lions look to offensively explode on the Titans and their secondary.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianopolis Colts
Winner: Indianopolis Colts
Why: I was a fan of Blaine Gabbert pre-last year, but I've seen virtually no change in his play since last season, in which he looked like a 12 year old boy about to go on his first date in the pocket. Expect Andrew Luck to get his 2nd career NFL win.
New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins
Winner: Jets
Why: Other than Reggie Bush, take a good hard look at the Dolphins roster.......you see what I see, ya this is an easy pick.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Minnesota Vikings
Winner: 49ers
Why: A suffocating 49ers defense will give Adrian Peterson and the Vikings run game problems all day Enter: Christian Ponder, do you really expect him to set the world on fire against the 49ers? Me neither 49ers in a route.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints
Winner: Chiefs
Why: The Saints defense couldn't tackle Stewy Griffin if he was the only player on the field. New Orleans Saints fans get ready to get into panic mode as your team starts the year off 0-3.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Washington Redskins
Winner: Bengals
Why: RgIII has looked better than advertised in his first two NFL games. I do expect him to take a step back this week against a Bengals team that needs all the wins they can get to compete in a loaded AFC North.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Arizona Cardinals
Winner: Eagles
Why: Arizona pulled off a Thank you BasedGod type win against the Patriots last week. Well, the BasedGod won't be with them this week Michael Vick and the Eagles will be 3-0 after this Sunday
Atlanta Falcons vs. San Diego Chargers
Winner: Falcons
Why: San Diego gets Ryan Matthews back this week, that's a huge lift but don't expect a W against a Atlanta Falcons offense that looks unstoppable to start off this season.
Houston Texans vs. Denver Broncos
Winner: Broncos
Why: Peyton Manning looked dazed and confused Monday night against a Falcons defense who came prepared to make plays. Don't expect that Peyton Manning two weeks in a row, Broncos win a tight win.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Oakland Raiders
Winner: Steelers
Why: Steelers looked dominant in last week's Sunday against the Jets. Mark Sanchez looked, as if he had never seen the Steelers defense in his entire life. The Raiders have struggled offensively and defensively expect more of that this week.
New England vs. Baltimore Ravens
Winner: Ravens
Why: Even though its only Week 3, this is a huge game for both teams coming off losses in games they should have won. Expect this rematch from last years AFC championship game to be extremely physical, helmets will fly this weekend. The loss of versatile Tight End Aaron Hernandez is huge for the Patriots, who will need all their weapons healthy for a battle against a hungry Ravens team.
Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks
Winner: Packers
Why: Ya Seattle looked extremely impressive against a sluggish Dallas Cowboys team last week, but expect the honeymoon to end Monday Night against Aaron Rodgers and company.

NBA Finals Preview
Oklahoma City vs. Miami Heat
Matchups
Russell Westbrook vs Mario Chalmers=Russell Westrbook
Why: Mario got embarrassed by Rajon Rondo all series, looking as if he didn't even belong to be on the same court with him. Now you have a faster, guard with better scoring ability, this will be a long series for Mario Chalmers. If Russell can dominate Mario like I think he will, OKC could finish this series off quicker than some expect.
James Harden vs Dwyane Wade=Dwyane Wade slightly
Why: James Harden is having a more consistent playoffs then Dwyane, but I can't go against a former finals MVP. Dwyane loves these situations; put him in the brightest spotlight and he will flourish. James Harden's talents as a underrated perimeter defender and top flight scorer/playmaker will have to be showcased at all times, he is the main ingredient, if he can cook all I can say is UH...OH.
Kevin Durant vs Lebron James= Even
Why: The two best players in the NBA, expect a show from these two. With both their legacies being written in this series, I think we will figure out who the sure fire best player in the NBA is in this years NBA finals. Both will dominate the question comes down to this, who will lead their squad to victory?
Chris Bosh vs. Serge Ibaka=Chris Bosh
Why: Serge Ibaka is no slouch and is a huge presence on the defensive end, if his shot is falling OKC is extremely tough to beat. However, Chris Bosh stretches the floor keeping Serge Ibaka away from the rim in shot blocking opportunities and allowing Dwade and LBJ to flourish. Healthy or not Chris Bosh will impact this series.
Kendrick Perkins vs Udonis Haslem=Kendrick Perkins
Why: The defensive mentality and toughness that Kendrick brings in the paint will be a huge factor in this series, he must throw his body around and help protect the rim against two of the best slashers in the NBA. You always know what you're going to get from Perk, he's been here before and he will make a unnoticeable but big impact in this series. Udonis on the other hand brings the same toughness with a 15 foot jumper if he can consistently knock down his shot opportunities and play tough defense, Miami will win this series.
Bench:
Nick Collison, Derek Fisher, Thabo Sefolosha (even though he starts his minutes are bench minutes) and Daequan Cook have come up huge in each round of the playoffs, these guys have given the Thunder valuable, productive minutes and that's all you want from your bench mob. On the other hand Miami's band of flunkies and NBA shooters who can no longer shoot in-game have to step up, the Big 3 can't carry them in this series they must produce...It's Primetime.
Outlook:
This could be the most entertaining NBA finals in recent memory. Both teams have incredible athletes who drop Espn top 10 worthy plays on a nightly basis, and have players with immense pressure to win their first titles. Russell Westbrook must take advantage of his match ups and must play in control, he is the key to the series in my estimation, if he turns the ball over and refuses to keep KD from flourishing when he's hot there could be trouble in Oklahoma City. The pressure on LBJ to win his first title is mounting, he's back in the NBA finals and has his chance at redemption, what more can you ask for, this is his chance to prove that he is without a doubt the best player in the NBA? With this being said, Kevin Durant is the best player in the league in my opinion, his hunger,will, and fact that he has more of a complete team around him will propel OKC to its first ever NBA championship.
Verdict=Thunder in 6
PS: The playoff format of 2-3-2 with Oklahoma City having game 6 and 7 in Oklahoma is a huge advantage, remember how their crowd rocks.

NBA Eastern Conference Finals Preview
Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat
Matchups
Rajon Rondo vs Mario Chalmers= Rajon Rondo
Why: Out of all the teams in the NBA the Heat is the only team Mario Chalmers could start for, let's keep it 100. Rajon Rondo is an absolute magician and the main catalyst behind the Celtics success, when he's running their extremely hard to beat. The walking triple-double will have Mario Chalmers shook all series, mind you the C's were a dirty play by Dwade away from overtaking that series last year. Ps: Rondo is averaging 15.3 ppg 12.7 apg and 6.7 rpg in this year's playoffs, simply amazing.
Ray Allen vs Dwyane Wade=Dwyane Wade
Why: The shoulder injury to Avery Bradley is huge, and will most definitely hurt the Celtics, he was the man in charge to try and contain Dwyane Wade. With Ray Allen still hobbled by that ankle injury and Mr. Wade County himself coming off a 40 point 11 rebound close out performance against the Pacers in the semifinals look for him to continue dominance.
Paul Pierce vs LeBron James=LeBron James
Why: LeBron James is a monster. For 90% of an NBA game he is the best player in the world, no question. However, Paul Pierce is no slouch the four-time all NBA recipient and former NBA champion is known to thrive in series like these. The man just can't be slept on. However, i'll say this Bron will have a huge series he can't afford to lose.
Brandon Bass vs Shane Battier=Brandon Bass
Why: Brandon Bass was the most consistent player for the Celtics in last rounds, grind em' out series against the 76ers. Without him, the C's would be watching the rest of the playoffs on a fishing retreat. Shane Battier is playing out of position and his jumper has been very inconsistent of late, this matchup does not bode well for the Heat. Expect Brandon Bass to continue to play well and play a huge factor if the Celtics can pull it off in this series.
Kevin Garnett vs Udonis Haslem=Kevin Garnett
Why: Kevin Garnett may be old, but he's definitely not dead. His game seems to raise whenever its money time and this years playoff averages of 19.2 ppg and 10.8 rpg are living proof. With Chris Bosh out, I think KG can most definitely have a field day against the physical, yet limited Udonis Haslem.
Bench
Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat: Tie
Why: Both benches are extremely weak, and feature inconsistent players who offer little help, with the exception of the Celtics Mickael Pietrius. Whichever bench steps up and plays better could determine who wins this series.
Outlook: The injuries to Chris Bosh and Avery Bradley are huge blows to both teams. With this being do or die time for LeBron James, in a year that screams Championship or Failure, the beloved LBJ has no choice but to be in the NBA finals. He must take over and provide the extra bit of punch he did in the Pacers series. Contrary to popular belief this series will be a physical, tough hard fought series, and with Doc Rivers being one of the top 2 coaches in the NBA its hard to go against him. However, I have the Heat in 7, the injuries piled up for the Celtics may be too much of a hinderance for the C's to outlast the Heat.
Heat in 7

He must take over and provide the extra bit of punch he did in the Pacers series. Contrary to popular belief this series will be a physical, tough hard fought series, and with Doc Rivers being one of the top 2 coaches in the NBA its hard to go against him. However, I have the Heat in 7, the injuries piled up for the Celtics may be too much of a hinderance for the C's to outlast the Heat.

NBA Western Conference Finals Preview
San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Matchups
Tony Parker vs Russell Westbrook= slight edge Tony Parker
Why: Tony Parker went off for 42 points earlier this year against Westbrook in a huge San Antonio win. Not only is Parker fearless of Russell Westbrook but he runs the San Antonio offense with more balance and is less turnover prone than Westbrook. This is no slight to Russell who in his own right is amongst the best Point Guards in the NBA and has managed to played near perfect in this years playoffs. I just can't go against the veteran leadership and craftiness of Parker in this match up.
Danny Green vs. Thabo Sefolosha=Danny Green
Why: If you ask me Thabo Sefolosha just takes up a roster spot. He virtually provides nothing offensively while playing above average Defense, somehow this has earned him the moniker of defensive specialist, I just don't see it, but hey to each is own. Danny Green has been a great addition to the Spurs this season and has stepped up huge in the playoffs. If he continues to knock down big threes and plays solid defense against Russell Westbrook he can be a big key to the Spurs success.
Kawhi Leonard vs Kevin Durant=Kevin Durant
Why: Kawhi Leonard is a pretty good defender who has scratched the surface of his NBA talent and his found his niche this season, but come on this is Kevin Durant were talking about. No questions or explanations here the NBA's best player Durant will get his and get it in bunches.
Tim Duncan vs. Serge Ibaka=Tim Duncan
Why: Serge Ibaka will be in foul trouble this whole series. Even at 36 years old Tim Duncan is one of the best Power Forwards in the game and his playoff averages of 17.6 ppg and 9.0 rpg while shooting an efficient 59% from the field in the semifinals against Blake Griffin and the L.A. Clippers is living proof. With Kendrick Perkins having to guard around the 3 point line and Tim Duncan being allowed to work one on one for most of the series, expect Duncan's craftiness and patience to have Ibaka sidelined for most of the series, enter Nick Collison.
Boris Diaw vs. Kendrick Perkins= slight edge Boris Diaw
Why: This not a good match up for Kendrick Perkins. Although Perk is a good low post defender, Boris Diaw's all- around stretch the floor type of game will give the rather slow-footed Perkins fits. Taking Perk away from the rim will open up the boards for the Spurs bigs this could be a huge battle in the series.
6th man battle
Manu Ginobli vs. James Harden=slight edge James Harden
Why: Both players are cooks but at this point in their careers the newly named NBA 6th Man of the Year Harden prepares better meals.
Bench
Spurs vs. Thunder= San Antonio Spurs by a long shot
Why: Stephen Jackson, Tiago Splitter, Manu Ginobli, Gary Neal, Dejuan Blair, and red-haired sharpshooter Matt Bonner whose bench is competing with that?
Outlook: San Antonio is just a much deeper team. Not only are they not afraid of Kevin Durant and co. but their core has been here too many times to take this opportunity for granted. This could possibly be Manu Ginobli and Tim Duncan's last chances to win a NBA title, and with Tim Duncan on a quest for his 5th ring, nobody is going to get in the way of that. A youthful Oklahoma City Thunder squad is only a year away from hoisting the Larry O'Brien.

NBA Western Conference Semifinal Playoff Picks
L.A. Lakers vs Oklahoma City Thunder
Winner=Lakers
Why= Even though it took 7 games for the Lakers to get rid of a scrappy Denver Nuggets team, I just can't vision Kobe Bean Bryant making an early exit from the playoffs for the second consecutive year. The quest for 6 rings is on and with the Lakers playing better team basketball and the return of Metta World Peace, this will be a tough Lakers team to beat. This will clearly be the best series of the 2nd round and with all the story lines coming together for this series I still say, Lakers in 6.
San Antonio Spurs vs L.A. Clippers
Winner=Spurs
Why= The Clippers look poised from all sides in their tough slug it out 7 game series against the Grizzlies. With the Spurs playing the best basketball in the NBA and the veteran leadership provided from the Spurs core, I just can't bet against the Spurs at this point in time. It will be a fun, exciting and dramatic series but Spurs in 6

NBA Eastern Conference Semifinal Picks
Indiana Pacers vs Miami Heat
Winner=Heat
Why= The Heat are on a mission right now and even though Indiana will be a more formidable opponent don't look for Miami's road to redemption to end here. Heat in 6
Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76ers
Winner=Celtics
Why= Let's be real the 76ers don't belong here, they have Tom Thibodeau to thank for extending their work schedule before their Carnival Cruise vacation. Boston is a very dangerous team and with double P, KG and Rajon playing the way they are right now look for Boston to end this series quickly. Celtics in 5 with little resistance

LeBron James King?
There's never been more pressure on LeBron James then the immense pressure he has to finally win his first NBA championship this year. Without question James is the most physically gifted athlete this world has ever seen, and his highlight real proves it. But lets be real, the clutch gene is the only thing that keeps the beloved King James from being the best basketball player in the NBA. Yes, his stats are unbelievable and the high level he plays at throughout the regular season, and first couple rounds of the playoffs is something that reflects a 2k game played at 8 minute quarters with all the game sliders up. The man is a complete beast, and at certain times he resembles a full grown man playing against Kindergartener's. However there's only one issue; in late important situations/games James is undoubtedly scary. When I say scary I don't mean striking fear in his opposition, by scary I mean afraid to seize the moment choosing to defer and not being able to make a difference when it matters the most. If you're looking for example, look no further than last year's NBA finals, where James looked unstoppable in his quest for his first NBA title.....when stuff hit the fan and the series needed a hero, the two time NBA most valuable player was nowhere to be found. Hence the question, how do you crown someone King with no crown? With no NBA titles to his name King James can only be referred to as Prince James, not taking shots but to be known as a King, don't you at least have to win one crown? The love he garners makes one ask a few certain questions such as: Is winning not looked upon as important in today's generation? Are we satisfied more with style than substance? Can one be the best NBA player when their scared to kill? Either way you slice it in order to be a King you have to earn a crown, and maybe this year is the year, but without it the beloved LBJ cannot be crowned.

Western Conference First Round Playoff Predictions
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks
Winner=Thunder
Why=OKC is too much for a Mavericks team, that lost their key NBA final components to free agency. J.J. Barea, Deshawn Stevenson and Tyson Chandler led them to the promise land, and without them they won't be able to create any magic. The Defending champs may make this series interesting but virtually have no chance. Thunder in 6
Utah Jazz vs San Antonio Spurs
Winner=Spurs
Why=The Spurs have been the best team in basketball this year, you'd be a complete fool to expect a early first round exit like last year. San Antonio's roster throws you eight guys that can go for 10 plus points any given night, don't be alarmed when this series bores you quickly. Sad part about this series is, I don't even feel like the Jazz have the roster to potentially steal one from San Antonio. Spurs sweep the Jazz in 4
LA Clippers vs Memphis Grizzlies
Winner=Grizzlies
Why= Let's be honest the Clippers are good but not that good yet, Memphis on the other hand is a much deeper team poised for a nice little post season run. With their roster healthy and Zach Randolph back in the starting lineup I just don't see the Grizzlies losing. Memphis in 6, this will be the second most entertaining series of the first round
Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Winner=Lakers
Why= Even with the loss of Metta World Peace for the first round the Lakers are just too good to lose to the Nuggets. The impact and dominance of the Pau Gasol-Andrew Bynum in the post will be too much for Denver and the way the Lakers recent confidence in its role players will lead to a masterful postseason run. Lakers in 5

Eastern Conference 1st round NBA predictions
Miami Heat vs. New York Knicks
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Chicago Bulls
Bulls in 5, Philly will sneak one at home
Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks
Indiana Pacers vs. Orlando Magic
winner=New York Knicks
Why= I'm going out on a limb on this one but I have complete faith the Knicks will get the job done. The firing of Head Coach Mike D'Antoni has been heaven sent to the Knicks recent success, and with Mike Woodson running the ship the team has become more defensive minded ranking No. 1 in the NBA in team defense since replacing D'Antoni. Tyson Chandler is the NBA's Defensive MVP along with Rookie Iman Shumpert the two have led a defensive revival in NYC. With Carmelo playing as well as he is and continuing to mesh with Amare Stoudemire, you just can't count this team out. Knicks in 7 Final Answer, this will be the most entertaining 1st round matchup we've seen in a whilePhiladelphia 76ers vs. Chicago Bulls
Winner=Bulls
Why= The 76ers stumbled into the playoffs, with many glaring post weaknesses being the focal point of their recent struggles look for the Bulls to just dominate them. Having sat out the last few games of the regular season Derrick Rose should be healthier, and to be honest in this matchup it really doesn't matter, the Bulls are just way too deep for the 76ers.Bulls in 5, Philly will sneak one at home
Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks
Winner=Celtics
Why= I'm going to keep this short and sweet. The Celtics are playing some of the best basketball in the NBA going into the playoffs and the Hawks can never be trusted. Celtics in 6, Joe Johnson will make at least two of these games interesting Indiana Pacers vs. Orlando Magic
Winner=Pacers
Why=No Dwight Howard, no playoff advance. Pacers in 6Thursday, April 26, 2012
Cowboys First Round Draft Needs
The Dallas Cowboys have some basic needs they need to address entering this year's draft. With Defensive back, Offensive guard and nose tackle being 3 positions the Cowboys are looking into as potential 1st round draft picks, here are the top 3 players that could be left on the board when the Cowboys draft at 14 tonight.
• Unanimous First-Team All-America (AFCA, AP, FWAA, Sporting News, Walter Camp, ESPN.com, SI.com, Pro Football Weekly & Rivals.com) • Finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award
• Semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award
• First-team All-SEC (AP & Coaches)
• Consensus midseason first-team All-American
• Secondary ranks No. 1 nationally in pass defense (116.3 ypg) & pass efficiency defense (83.9)
• Defense also ranks No. 1 in scoring defense (8.8 ppg) & total defense (191.3 ypg)
• Lott Trophy watch list
• Jim Thorpe Defensive Back of the Week (Penn St.)
• Returning first-team All-American and All-SEC
• Has 12 career interceptions that ranks eighth in Alabama history as well as 235 tackles and 34 passes defended
• Seven-time Alabama Defensive Player of the Week
1. Mark Barron S, Alabama
| Height / Weight: 6-2 / 218 |
• Semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award
• First-team All-SEC (AP & Coaches)
• Consensus midseason first-team All-American
• Secondary ranks No. 1 nationally in pass defense (116.3 ypg) & pass efficiency defense (83.9)
• Defense also ranks No. 1 in scoring defense (8.8 ppg) & total defense (191.3 ypg)
• Lott Trophy watch list
• Jim Thorpe Defensive Back of the Week (Penn St.)
• Returning first-team All-American and All-SEC
• Has 12 career interceptions that ranks eighth in Alabama history as well as 235 tackles and 34 passes defended
• Seven-time Alabama Defensive Player of the Week
Why Cowboys Should Draft Him: The Cowboys most glaring need last year belonged in the Defensive backfield at the Safety position. Lets be honest Barron is a huge upgrade from Abram Elam at the Strong Saftey position, with Abram gone the Cowboys are looking for a playmaker to compliment Gerald Sensabaugh in the Defenisve backfield. The Cowboys ranked 23rd in the NFL in pass defense last year, at Alabama last year Barron led the no. 1 pass defense in the nation, finishing his career off with12 interceptions good for no. 8 all time in Alabama history. Barron is a heady playmaker whose combination of smarts, coverage and tackling skills could help sure up a shaky Cowboys secondary.
2. David Decastro OG, Standford
| Height / Weight: 6-5 / 310 |
Production: : Started all 39 games at the right guard position during his three-year career...two-time first team all-conference selection...unanimous All-America selection in 2011...blocking skills in the run game helped Stanford amass three of the top four single-season rushing totals in school history...helped anchor an offensive line that allowed just 24 sacks over a three-year span (2009-11)...pass protection aided quarterback Andrew Luck establish school career records for passing efficiency, completion percentage and touchdowns.
Why Cowboys Should Draft Him: At Left Guard Decastro, can team up with Rookie OT Tyron Smith to form one of the most powerful, talented, young left side offensive line tandems in the NFL Bill Nagy did not cut it last year and despite the off-season additions of OG's Nate Livings, and Mackenzie Bernadeau it would really help the Cowboys to add a potential Pro-Bowler in the mix to help sure up a Cowboys offensive line that proved to be its biggest offensive weakness in 2011.
3. Michael Brockers DT, LSU
Height/Weight: 6'6/306
Production: Spent three years with the Tigers before declaring for the NFL following his redshirt sophomore season ... Dominating interior defensive lineman who was a tremendous run stuffer during his two years of playing at LSU ... Played in 27 games with 15 starts, including all 14 games in 2011 ... Finished his career with 79 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks ... Earned second-team All-SEC honors as a sophomore in 2011.
Why Cowboys Should Draft Him: Kenyon Coleman is getting old. With the Cowboys looking to move All Pro Defensive Tackle Jay Ratliff to Defensive End to form a more formidable pass rush, a huge run stuffing Nose Tackle looks like a glaring need that could help bring some stability to the Cowboys Defensive Line.

C.J. McCollum Interview
Player Profile
CJ McCollum
Position: Shooting Guard
Class: Senior
Height: 6'3
School: Lehigh University
1. Since coming on the scene as a freshman,
you’ve played with super confidence on some of college basketball’s biggest
stages, a lot of people can’t handle that pressure what makes you different?
- I work hard everyday to prepare myself for the big stage so I don't worry about the pressure. I believe if your prepared, confident and believe in yourself, there's no reason why you can't succeed.
2. How has Ohio basketball shaped your game and who influences the way you play?
-Ohio basketball is strong all the way around from Canton to Columbus and beyond. We have a unique style of play where we can adjust to different systems and types of play. Growing up my brother influenced me a lot and does till this day. We are best friends, work out together and push each other to be great. I also study a lot of basketball on a daily basis.
3. I know after this season there was a lot of questions to if you were coming back to Lehigh for your senior season or entering the NBA draft what influenced your decision to stay?
-I felt like returning for my senior year could be beneficial for me on and off the court. I will have time to mature and complete my degree, which was my reason for coming to college. I feel like our team has unfinished business and will ultimately try to make history next year.
4. Who recruited you out of high school and what made Lehigh the best decision for you?
-I was recruited by a lot of low major and mid major programs. Bowling Green, Akron, Miami Ohio, Toldeo, Fairfield, Boise State, St. Bonaventure to name a few.
5. With all the attention that comes to you being the face of Lehigh athletics, how do you remain so humble and focused?
- I've come along way as a person and player and don't take anything for granted. I remember what it was like to struggle (in terms of lack of playing time and poor performance) so the success is great, but my mom always told me remember where you came from and how far you've come. I am very confident in my abilities and have worked extremely hard, but I know none of this would be possible without God and the help of many people along the way. I set goals for my self coming into to college and I will never become complacent or content
6. What inspires you when you step on the court?
- My grandfather passed away my sophomore year in High school so I play this game inspired by him because he wasn't able to see me past 5'7 inches. I just want to be the best and want to make my family proud.
7. Who are your biggest motivators and how have they played a part in your success?
- My brother, Errick McCollum II, mom, Kathy Andrews and dad Errick McCollum I are my biggest motivators outside of myself. They push me to be the best everyday and give me constructive criticism without a filter. I can always count on them to keep it real and my brother is always there to workout with me and be a great influence in my life.
8. How do you look to improve your game this off-season, what are the key things you’re focusing on?
- I will focus on refining every part of my game. Continue to get stronger and put in my work than I did last off season. I need to improve my weaknesses and continue to add onto my strengths.
9. Where are you from?
I am from Canton, Ohio.
10. What are your goals for the team in this upcoming year?
- We want to dominate the league and make a historic run. We look forward to the challenge of defending our championship.
11. What are your goals in general in your senior year?
- I want to leave my mark on this program and help our seniors win three championships in four years. Every time I step on the court I will treat it like it's my last.
- I work hard everyday to prepare myself for the big stage so I don't worry about the pressure. I believe if your prepared, confident and believe in yourself, there's no reason why you can't succeed.

Sunday NBA picks
New York Knicks at Atlanta Hawks
Winner=Knicks
Why=I've said this before national stage plus Knicks=win. Miami will have there hands full in the first round.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers
Winner=Lakers
Why= The Lakers will return strong after being wallopped by the Spurs in San Antonio Friday night. Even though the Thunder have a chance to get the season sweep of the Lakers today, look for the Lakers to avoid this misfortune going into the playoffs.
Toronto Raptors at Detriot Pistons
Winner=Pistons
Why=Both teams have been playing terribly of late and in a battle of who has the most young talent, look for the Pistons to come out on top against a shorthanded Toronto ball club.
Houston Rockets at Miami Heat
Winner=Rockets
Why=The Heat are resting their players going into the playoffs and the Rockets need to win out to ensure their spot in the playoffs, Houston badly needs this game.
Sacramento Kings at Charlotte Bobcats
Winner=Kings
Why=Michael Jordan has done a terrible job in the decision making regarding the Bobcats, I can't pick them to beat a WNBA team at this point.
Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves
Winner=Timberwolves
Why= Both teams have been playing horrid, with the Warriors losing 9 consecutive ballgames and the Timberwolves snapping an 11 game losing streak with a win over the lowly Detroit Pistons Thursday night. Look for the Timberwolves to win consecutive games in April for the first time in three years against an injury riddled Golden State squad.
Cleveland Cavaliers at San Antonio Spurs
Winner=Cavs
Why=The Spurs will be resting their players tonight, and even though their roster is deep enough to win while resting their stars, look for a scrappy Cavalier team headed by Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving to sneak out of San Antonio with a win.
Orlando Magic at Denver Nuggets
Winner=Nuggets
Why=Denver just ensured themselves a Western conference playoff spot in last nights win. No Dwight Howard=Magic loss
New Orleans Hornets at Los Angeles Clippers
Winner=Clippers
Why=The Hornets are a surprisingly scrappy team bu tin the wake of Chris Paul playing against his former team and the Clippers trying to move up their playoff position expect for them to dominate in this game.
Winner=Knicks
Why=I've said this before national stage plus Knicks=win. Miami will have there hands full in the first round.

NFL Draft Player Watch: Dontari Poe
Profille
Height: 6'4
Weight: 346lbs
40 time: 4.98s
Last Season Production: Poe started all 12 games on the defensive line this season, and has made 30 starts for the Tigers during his three-year career. He tallied 33 tackles, including 18 solo stops, and was third on the team in TFL with eight for minus 26 yards in 2011. Poe also posted a sack, three pass breakups, five quarterback hurries and one forced fumble. He matched his career high in tackles with eight against Marshall. At the post-season banquet, he was named an MVP as well as the Defensive Player of the Year. Poe was named to the All-C-USA second team by the league coaches.
Poe jumped on the scene with his impressive combine time of 4.98, at 346 lbs that is remarkable. At the combine he showed fluid hips and a great burst, while being able to show off his natural power. His combine alone has allowed him to sneak into the 1st round conversation and I believe this kid has all the traits to be a superstar and force in a 3-4 scheme as a nose tackle in this league. With his speed don't be surprised to see him play a little bit of 4-3 1 technique defensive tackle but right now I believe his best fit is at nose.

NBA Sunday Picks
Miami Heat at New York Knicks
Winner=Knicks
Why=National stage, playoff atmosphere, Carmelo is playing like the Carmelo of old and his comfort level is on supreme. The Knicks have been playing great basketball of late and a potential first round matchup with the Heat will have this game turnt up, look for the Knicks to show you why they will knock off the Heat in the first round of the playoffs.
Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Lakers
Winner=Lakers
Why=Lakers always play well in their Sunday's best uniforms and despite the absence of Kobe Bryant look for Andrew Bynum to have a dominating impact on what could be another potential NBA first round matchup. This is a statement game so look for intensity to be high from both teams; the Lakers supporting cast must bring their A game.
Toronto Raptors at Atlanta Hawks
Winner=Hawks
Why= I can never go with the Raptors and Atlanta has won four of its last five ballgames
Boston Celtics at Charlotte Bobcats
Winner=Celtics
Why=The Bobcats are atrocious and the laughingstock of the NBA, theirs a few college teams I think could possibly give them a run for their money.
Houston Rockets at Denver Nuggets
Winner=Nuggets
Why=This is a fight for the 7th and 8th seed in the Western Conference playoff race. The Nuggets have won five straight at home and need a win now because their schedule closing out the rest of the regular season is only going to get tougher.

Winner=Bulls
Why= Detroit is young team that's learning how to string together quality wins. The Bulls are without question the best team in the NBA, they bring it every night and will continue to do the same tonight.

Winner=Kings
Why=Lamarcus Aldridge is out for the rest of the season with a hip injury, Demarcus Cousins will dominate their bigs in another great performance from him.
Memphis Grizzlies at New Orleans Hornets
Winner=Grizzlies
Why= The Grizzlies are finally healthy and are learning to play together with a revamped roster that recently added volume scorer Gilbert Arenas and do everything Power Forward Zach Randolph, who is coming back from an early season injury. This team will be dangerous come playoff time, expect them to rollover the Hornets
Orlando Magic at Cleveland Cavaliers
Winner=Cavs
Why=Dwight Howard is out for the rest of the regular season and the Orlando Magic as a franchise is a mess, look for the Cavs to sneak another quality win against a top NBA opponent.

The Impact of the NFL Draft
As we're getting closer to the day in which many young man's lives will be changed, I want to briefly explain the magnitude of the moment. From April 26-28 many athletes lives will be turned upside down, these days mark the opening and closing of the NFL Draft. Millions of kids all over the world dream of one day having their name called by an NFL team to experience the gift of playing the beloved game of football at its highest level. Each year only 254 names are selected to represent their school in the NFL. The pain, passion, love and heart that goes into this are more than most people can fathom. Athletes day to day grind for the game they love, sacrificing socially, mentally and monetarily to achieve a dream that could forever change the lives of not only themselves, but their families and those around them. The love of the game of football is a common love that many people around the world share, but only so many people get the gift of being able to enjoy it at its fullest extent. The game of football is a release from the daily struggles of lives and the draft only signifies a payment for all the sacrifice put in to achieve this goal. A message to all athletes cherish the gift of being able to walk on that field and express yourself through you're true love and don't ever believe any goal is impossible.
Easter NBA predictions
Chicago Bulls at New York Knicks
winner=Knicks
Why=New York has been playing well of late due to the firing of Head Coach Mike D'Antoni and even though today will be the return of Derrick Rose I feel like the Knicks has something to prove on the national stage, which always seems to bring the best out of the World's Largest media markets team.
Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics
Winner=76ers
Why=Philadelphia started the year off hot and their recent sloppy basketball has put them in jeopardy of making the playoffs. Look for them to step it up tonight and realize the magnitude of these last few games leading into the post-season
Cleveland Cavilers at New Jersey Nets
Winner=Nets
Why=New Jersey has won 5 of its last 8 games and are playing their best basketball of the season leaving us to wonder, where would the Nets be if Brook Lopez was healthy all season? I take the Nets continuing to play good basketball and coming out with a W at home.
Utah Jazz at San Antonio Spurs
Winner=Spurs
Why=The Spurs are arguably the best team in the NBA, and between them and the Chicago Bulls they are one of the two deepest teams in the NBA. Look for the Spurs to make their 11 game winning streak 12 at home tonight
Toronto Raptors at Oklahoma City Thunder
Winner=Thunder
Why=The Thunder are on a 3 game losing streak after a few weeks of playing their best basketball of the season. Look for them to break this streak and head into the playoffs on fire.
Houston Rockets at Sacramento Kings
Winner=Rockets
Why=The Rockets have their eyes on the post-season and have played well of late winning 6 of their last 9 including impressive wins over NBA title contenders: Chicago Bulls and LA Lakers. The Kings have been struggling and the dysfunction throughout the team will be at its peak tonight.
Detroit Pistons at Miami Heat
Winner=Heat
Why=Anything can happen on any given day in the NBA, just not today look for the Heat to not only win but win big.
